It looks like someone is going to need to fact check Port Charles history here.
General Hospital’s Writers Caught Making This Continuity Error
There’s strong speculation on social media that suggests the writers of General Hospital have made a contiunity error when it comes to the history of the Quartermaine estate. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Some fans have pointed out that Edward Quartermaine had never owned the Quartermaine Estate. Instead, the property was bought by Alan when he moved to Port Charles.
It wans’t until he was trying to reconcile with Monica did he gift her the estate. It’s also been noted that the fences and property boundaries were established well before Alan had purchased the property.
Needless to say, General Hospital fans and critics had a lot to say about the matter.
Some even commented with, “I feel like this is one of the shows biggest regrets, not having the Quartermaine mansion be the ancestral home for the family.”
“Because they want to treat it as such but know that they can’t because they have told us ad nauseam that Alan bought the property FOR Monica. And now they want to have it both ways!”
Another critic wrote, “It is just like the show acting like the Q’s always being part of Port Charles, which wasn’t the case. The entire Q family was from South Hampton — not Port Charles.”
General Hospital Spoilers: What’s Next In Port Charles?
“Alan was recruited to GH by Dr. Steve Hardy as a doctor. His family followed him here. So all this old alleged Port Charles Q history – prior to 1977/1978 – it all a retcon.”
And then there was this comment as well: “And real estate Title Insurance has been a thing since the late 1800’s so Alan certainly secured that at the closing. Not like he didn’t have access to Q lawyers despite being a doctor & you know Edward would have double checked everything!”
“They’re going to have to write Monica out and bump her off soon. I wonder what will happen to Monica’s estate then? That could be interesting!”
Of course, GH fans will have to tune in each and every day to find out what will happen next.
