We’ve got very excited news for our daytime television fans. That’s because there’s a new report that says General Hospital alum Jon Lindstrom is joining the new CBS soap, The Gates!
Breaking News: General Hospital Star Joins New Soap!
Many fans remember Jon as both Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlin on General Hospital. He also played Craig Montgomery on As The World Turns.
If that weren’t enough, Jon’s real-ife wife Cady McClain is also joining the cast of The Gates! She last played Jennifer Horton on Days of Our Lives.
Soap Opera Digest was the first to break the news about the new soap in development at CBS. The network joined forces with the NAACP to develop The Gates, which will be a new drama about a wealthy black family residing at an upscale gated community.
Soap veteran Michele Van Jean will serve as the head writer and showrunning for the show. Other executive producers will include Sheila Ducksworth, Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereine. We are already getting very excited about this one!
CBS said in a statement, “THE GATES will be everything we love about daytime drama, from a new and fresh perspective. This series will salute an audience that has been traditionally underserved, with the potential to be a groundbreaking moment for broadcast television.”

The Gates premieres Monday, February 24th on the CBS network.
